Basic and Standard Assistive Technology is generally claimed through your Core Supports Budget.
Do I have to do anything to get TAD Australia’s Basic and Standard AT on my plan?
It’s important to think about all the equipment you may need for your daily life before your planning meeting.
You may not need to list Basic and Standard Equipment as specific items in Core Supports. However, it is much easier to get the AT if it is listed and has its own budget in the plan.
How do I get a budget for Basic and Standard Assistive Technology in Core Supports?
The more information you can take to your planning meeting the better. An Allied Health specialist can help by providing a report that explains why the equipment is important for you.
Our therapists can do this for you. We can also provide a quote for our Assistive Technology to take to your planning meeting.
What if my Basic and Standard Assistive Technology isn’t listed in Core Supports?
Your Core Supports budget is flexible. In most cases you can choose how you use it. You may be able to use it to fund level 1 and 2 AT that isn’t listed (as long as it falls within your budget).
Your LAC, planner or support coordinator can let you know if this is possible.
